So Good

9:25 AM - September 22nd, 2005

Despite the messy and excessive clean-up and the cut on the middle finger of my left hand I got while peeling potatoes, the dinner I cooked for myself last night was so good. To put it in Bigi terms, it was too good. It was also the first time I stir-fried veggies (instead of boiling them). Coincidence?

I should record this. The first meal I (mostly) cooked for myself that I craved: steamed rice, stir-fried yardlong beans with (canned) baby corn, steamed red potatoes, bacon bits (the kind made from real bacon), and catfish that my mom cooked for me.

It makes me excited about cooking—almost as much as the cooking game segment of Iwata’s keynote (that was my favorite part =)).

You always manage to talk about games somehwere on here, don’t you?

I can totally relate. I absolutely love cooking everyday, and I look forward to doing so (I start thinking about what to make for dinner during/immediately after lunch). Quad Mom’s catfish sounds delicious. Steamed?

You should take a photo of every meal you cook!

i dont exactly “look forward” to cooking dinner but i dont mind, and in fact im starting to do so more and more. but so far my only good creations are fried rice (2 different kinds tho!), curry rice and red sauce pasta. haven’t really got the guts to try something else.

btw, today (sunday 9/25)’s garfield and foxtrot are both great and are something we (at least i) can relate to. which is the main reason i’m posting here. :D

You know… I’m not sure how my mom cooks the catfish… I think it’s lightly fried? When I go home, I just eat; I don’t ask questions. =)

I really should’ve taken a picture of that meal though. It had so many different colors and shapes. I’m just afraid that once I start taking pictures, I’m obligated to take pictures of the blah-blah meals too…

Hey Bigi, you should totally write about your “fried rice on a electric stove” technique. I keep imagining it to be so wild and crazy.
